Vlaamse piloot ontslagen

Een 'fait divers' vorige week in de Belgische pers:
Een Airbus A300 van de Turkse chartermaatschappij Fly Air keerde terug naar Parijs-Orly na een technisch defect (één van de drie generatoren). Enkele uren later wilde het terug opstijgen maar de 235 Franse passagiers weigeren in te stappen. Na controle door de Franse luchtvaart authoriteiten (DGAC) bleken er nog andere techische gebreken, en werd het toestel aan de grond gehouden. Een dag later kreeg men toestemming om het toestel leeg terug te vliegen.
Blijkt nu dat de boordcommandat een Vlaming is (Peter Thys (46) uit Bocholt), die intussen prompt werd ontslagen door zijn werkgever (omdat hij de veiligheidsvoorschriften in acht nam?)!
Bij Fly Air, dat op tien dagen drie keer af te rekenen kreeg met technische defecten, was gisteren blijkbaar niemand bereikbaar voor commentaar.

Ik studeer ook in de luchtvaart en de top prioriteit bij luchtvaart is dat je 100% moet zijn of helemaal niets. Als die technieker, na meerdere malen, het vliegtuig toch niet paraat heeft gekregen, kan die gewoon ontslagen worden.
